Funkstown Legion Post 211 State Champs
The Skunks are going to add another year to their roster
as this past Sunday they took home the State championship
for the second year in a row. Way to go Skunks!
Confederate flags in Town
In response to the Confederate Flags in Town. The Town of Funkstown has the Confederate Flags throughout the Town because this is the weekend of the Re-enactment of the Battle of Funkstown. Groups come from all over the United States to participate in the Battle.
The Town of Funkstown does not endorse controversy, but the Battle is a part of living history. It would be a disservice to the participants and to the spectators to not properly represent a part of history, and the Confederate Flag is a part of the Battle of Funkstown history.
When the event is over this weekend, the flags will be taken down.
Paul Crampton, Jr.
Mayor
Town of Funkstown
