NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the public health risks it presents, no in person attendance or testimony shall be permitted at the Public Hearing scheduled for April 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering an increase in the charge for new water and sewer connections within the Corporate Boundaries of the Town. In order to remain compliant with Maryland’s Open Meeting Act and the Town of Funkstown’s Emergency Ordinance regarding Compliance with said Act, comments, input, exhibits and/or other relevant information may be submitted in writing to the Town Manager, Brenda Haynes, via regular mail, priority mail, email, or hand delivery no later than 4:30p.m., April 13, 2020. (Brenda Haynes, Town Manager, 30 E. Baltimore St., P.O. Box 235, Funkstown, MD. 21734 or bhaynes@myactv.net). Any such written comments, input, exhibits and/or other relevant information will be made a part of the record of the Public Hearing and considered by the Mayor and Council in deciding upon the proposed action. The public shall have the ability to listen to the Hearing which will be conducted via conference call through the Town’s Facebook commencing at 7:00 p.m.
Trash Pickup
Effective immediately, at the recommendation of Federal and State government, Apple Valley Waste will NO longer be emptying containers that have loose trash placed inside. PLEASE make sure all trash is in tied bags before placing in containers. The company needs to do everything possible to protect their employees that are essential to keeping our municipality safe and clean.
Yard Waste Collection
In order for Apple Valley Waste to maintain its focus on trash collection, effective immediately Apple Valley Waste is temporarily suspending the performance of the Yard Waste Collection (grass clippings, brush, tree limbs, etc.) until further notice.

Special Meeting
NOTICE
The Special Meeting of the Funkstown Mayor and Council to be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. will be closed to the public due to the COVID-19 concerns. However, the meeting will be open to the public and can be viewed as LIVE on LiveStream by Antietam Broadband with the following link: https://livestream.com/accounts/12173556/events/9054041
In person citizen comments will be prohibited due to health concerns. However, citizen comments may be made by sending an email to the Town of Funkstown (bhaynes@myactv.net) or by mailing any written comments to the Town Manager, Town of Funkstown, P.O. Box 235, Funkstown, MD 21734 on or before 4:30 p.m. on April 3, 2020.
Re-enactment meeting
The Re-enactment Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 19th at 6:00 p.m. has been cancelled. The meeting next month will be held on Thursday, April 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall.
