Former Mayor Passes

Robert L. Kline, who served as Funkstown’s mayor for 28 years died Tuesday morning. Mayor Kline was 82 and was the winner of a write in campaign for mayor in 1982 and served as mayor until 2010. He was married to his wife Reatha for 62 years and had 3 children. It was largely due to his efforts the Funkstown park doubled in size and the new section off of Beaver Creak Road bares his name for all of the love and commitment that he had for the town and its residents.
